MISSION STATEMENT

“To facilitate the recruiting process for talented high school athletes throughout
the Tampa Bay area, and help them achieve their goals and dreams in all sports.”

We will accomplish our mission by creating videos and marketing the athletes to college recruiters through needed exposure from reliable and knowledgeable sources. We will simplify the college process for the athlete, and make the decision making process easier for the college recruiters. Our goal is to match our athlete’s with an institution that will achieve the players’ athletic, academic, and social needs.

The recruiting process has changed tremendously over the years and it has become increasingly difficult for recruiters to get out due to budget cuts, NCAA restrictions and time constraints. Coaches have been forced to rely more on recommendations, video and showcases to recruit their players. Coaches rarely will sign a player without physically seeing him or her first, but they need to be made aware that the player is someone to see. Many players from remote areas or smaller schools are never seen by a college coach, therefore ending their career in athletics.

5-Tools saw a need for athletes to have the opportunity to have their skills viewed and evaluated by coaches throughout the United States.  With that, a recruiting service was developed by Dwayne Strong and Clyde Metcalf.  With over 60 years of combined experience, they have put together a fabulous package that will allow the student-athlete to get in front of the right coaches.

 PROGRAM DIRECTORS

Dwayne Strong is in his 18^th year of coaching and his 5^th year as the hitting coach at Sarasota High School. Has coached at Booker High School, Manatee High School and Manatee Community College; was an associate scout for the Florida Marlins for two years and has over 18 years of camp experience. Over 100 of his former players have played at the college level and/or professionally. 

Clyde Metcalf is in his 27^th year as the Head Baseball Coach at Sarasota High School.  His successes include over 600 wins, five state championships, and two national championships. Over 170 of his former players have played at the college level and/or professionally.

 Kelly Wilson is in her second year as the Head Volleyball Coach at Sarasota High School. Kelly served as an assistant coach for five years before taking over two years ago. Kelly a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Education.

 With the experience that we have had with the college recruiting process, we are certain that this package will be a hit with college recruiters.

 Program Includes

BASIC WORKOUT: With this choice we will give you a workout which will include the director videoing your workout and provide you with a CD or DVD that you can send too any college of your choice. The organization will not provide any assistance with contacting schools or any recommendations.

FULL WORKOUT: Prior to entering the program, we will give you a full work out to determine your potential as a college athlete. We will then sit down with you and your family to discuss our assessment of your abilities. If both parties agree that there will be a mutual benefit, we will continue the process. If you believe that you are on a higher playing level than the instructors, we will wish you the best. Our credibility is extremely important, and we cannot promote athletes to a school we believe is beyond your current or future playing level.

VIDEO DEVELOPMENT: After the workout, we will develop a personal CD or DVD for you using 5 – Tools Dartfish video analysis software. Dartfish is the most sophisticated program on the market today with regard to athlete analysis, and has been used by Olympic Athletes to evaluate performance. If you are an underclassman, your video will be updated each season, and will show your progress. This way, your video will be current each time we send it out.

RECRUITING PACKAGE: We will establish your target schools, obtain your transcrips, collect stats, and develop an athletic resume to email with your video to the target schools. Each package will be mailed  or emailed to schools by the director who is handling your recruitment.

PHONE CONTACTS: After the colleges have had the opportunity to evaluate your video, we will follow up with phone contacts to each coach. All of the directors have excellent relationships with coaches throughout the country, which will go a long way in getting you a scholarship to the school of your choice.

FOLLOW UP: After the intitial contacts, we will continue to facilitate your relationship with each school, and work to get them out to see you at personal workouts, or at one of your games. We will also send out additional videos to other schools in an attempt to create other options for you. This process will run until you have achieved success in obtaining a school.

COST OF THE PROGRAM

BASIC - $ 295
FULL SERVICE - $1,000 – This is a one-time fee that will carry you through the end of you high school career, or when you receive a scholarship, whichever comes first.
